Le Chef charged home to claim a huge upset win in the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2.y.o Guineas (1200m) at the start of the year and has been confirmed for a racing return in the 2015 Roman Consul Stakes field.

Running fifth in a Doomben minor over 1050m on debut in November, Le Chef progressed to success in the XXXX Gold Maiden Plate (1100m) and the First National Handicap (1200m) before stunning a classy field in the Magic Millions.

Unable to make an impact in the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) on May 8th, Le Chef was impressive in a barrier trial prior to the Roman Consul Stakes and will be hard to beat from barrier 4 with regular hoop Luke Tarrant aboard.

Queensland is very well represented in the 2015 Roman Consul Stakes field after Wicked Intent was also confirmed on Wednesday.

Debuting to racing for a pair of wins in minor Queensland sprints last spring, Wicked Intent made a successful transition to black type racing in taking out the Listed Phelan Ready Plate (1050m) on December 13th.

Running second in the Group 3 McLachlan Stakes (1200m) on December 27th, the Wicked Style colt returned in winter for second in the Champagne Classic, but failed to make any impact in the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) and returned to the paddock.

Having performed well through two starts this time, Wicked Intent has been confirmed to be partnered by Zac Purton and will leave from the ideal barrier 5.

Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller could very well quinella the race after confirming Japonisme and Counterattack in the 2015 Roman Consul Stakes field.

Stamping his claims as a colt to follow upon resuming this time for three-consecutive wins in minor sprints, Japonisme made a successful transition to black type racing in taking out the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) on August 15th before placing fourth in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) last time out on August 29th.

Counterattack announced his arrival over an impressive Brisbane Winter Carnival campaign of his own without setting the industry on fire, and has returned in slick form this time.

Jumping from the gates well in the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m) on September 19th, jockey Jim Cassidy led the colt forward and settled at the fore of the field; extending in the final straight to finish close to two lengths in the clear.

Allocated the ideal barrier 2, Counterattack will be partnered by the veteran hoop once more in the 2015 Roman Consul Stakes.
